Boys & their Issues

So I've been doing a lot of thinking lately.

As the mother of two handsome boys, I feel it is my responsibility to teach them to be gentlemen. And really, overall, they are doing quite well.

They clean up after themselves rather nicely, and generally without much prompting. They are respectful (most of the time), smart, and know that it is very important to be nice to girls (even when they aren't being nice to you).

There is unfortunately, one little thing in particular they haven't mastered: Peeing IN the toilet.

For some reason, this has just been too hard for them to handle. They are reminded constantly to be more careful, and TRY to hit where they're supposed to, but it just proves to be too much. They just can do it. They can certainly hit everywhere else, but just not in the toilet. Frankly, I'm tired of having to clean it up. So, I've come up with a solution.

Tomorrow, they are going to clean the bathroom. Then next weekend, they'll clean it again. Then, if need-be, they'll do it again for the next few weekends. They'll do it over and over again until they get the point and stop peeing everwhere. Sounds fun, huh?! I'm sure they'll agree too, once they find out.

The thought is that maybe they will be more careful if they're the ones that have to clean it up. We'll just have to wait and see... In the meantime, here's a picture for you:

The Outcome

Okay.
The ceremony is over. It was great..Really.
Except for all the junk surrounding it.
First and foremost, Spike and I were both running late. Because we were both late, we were both irritable and commenced to arguing almost as soon as we saw each other. Lucky for us, Chase was still at the school (he attends after-school camp there) and was excited to put on his snazzy new button down shirt.
The ceremony lasted an hour longer than I was expecting, and I realized too late that I hadn't pulled anything out for dinner.
The positive: Chase enjoyed performing, and we enjoyed watching him. We then enjoyed 3 Totino's pizzas and some Family Guy.

In any case, here are the pictures:
He was singing "Wheels on the Bus"

He was one of Little Bo Peeps' baby sheep. Cute as a button!

Hugging his teacher as he got his diploma.

He graduated Pre-K!

I am so proud of my big boy. He's getting so big!

Graduation Day!

Soo...

Crazy busy day at work. CRAZY.

Tonight is Chase's "End of the Year Program". From what little bits he will tell me (he really is the best secret-keeper ever), they will be singing songs about Little Bo Peep. He is SO excited! So excited, in fact, that he just had to wear his brand new bright green shoes (they match his bright green Hulk shirt that he is wearing today).

It never ceases to amaze me how obsessed my kid is with accessories. I've been pretty happy with his entire Pre-K year, and he has really grown by leaps and bounds. Just in the past 4 months, he has made the following accomplishments:

1. Learned to tie his own shoes
2. Learned to count to 50 (I think he can count past there, but I'm not 100% sure)
3. Learned to spell: Cat, Dog, Dad, and Chase B.M.
4. Taught himself to spell STOP (we're in the car a LOT) and SAM (from a superhero movie).

I cannot how big he is! So grown! He's such a good helper too.Anyway, I'll post pictures of his program and awesome outfit soon.

Food for Thought... Or Dinner?

There has been a lot of food talk in my house these days. Mr. Right and I recently quit smoking (Yeah!). While that was a feat in and of itself, we found another problem quickly arose: Weight gain. I, for one, knew that this was bound to happen. I have quit smoking many times in the past, and each time put on a few. He, however, did not see it coming, and was quite surprised to notice he suddenly had "Moobs".

We also noticed Chase has become more round in the past couple months. I assume this is due to a more sedentary lifestyle (he started Pre-K this year, and seems to spend more time sitting and learning than moving and playing).

This ultimately brought about conversations of people's strange diets. These strange diets include, but are not limited to, the following: The Caveman Diet, the Macrobiotic Diet (think Madonna), and the Gluten-Free diet.

They all sound really restricting. The only one of the three that would even be remotely possible for my family is the Macrobiotic Diet. Except for the part about no coffee. I would die. Literally.

Yeah... I'll just stick with my eat less/move more plan.

Hello!

Welcome to my blog. I'm not exactly sure what's driven me to do this, but I suppose a number of things could be blamed.

For starters, I hate my job. Hate. My. Job. Which doesn't seem like it would have a lot to do with a blog, but it does. I've been looking at freelance writing on the side, but I'm not quite sure yet. Wish me luck!

At some point, I may actually share my blog with family and friends. Not so much because they're actually interested in the day-to-day routines of my life, but because I'm vain enough to wish they were. And just for clarification, that is not the slightest bit pathetic. Not one bit.

Other than those reasons, I suppose I just need an outlet sometime. Something to challenge me while letting me vent all my pent up frustrations.Good enough reasons, right?
