More Recent stuff.

I know, I know. I'm really horrible about updating this thing. And when I do, I seem to update in list form, never anything in nice and tidy paragraphs. Oh well, here we go again (Hey, at least I put in pictures too this time!):

1. School is fine for me, but not so great for Chase. His behavior is getting more and more out of control at school. Not quite sure what we're gonna do about that one. We have a few ideas in the works, so I'll update when I know more.

Chase's new haircut. :-)

2. We are FINALLY painting the living room! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! It will be a lovely shade of yellow (not my #1 choice, but a free 5-gallon bucket of paint is definitely not something to sneer at).

He thought this haircut was awesome.

3. The house is coming together for Fall. Those who know me well can attest to my long-time dream of having home decorations for every holiday. Well, I'm gathering supplies little by little, and am VERY excited about all the new stuff I'm putting together for this year. Doesn't quite fall under the *minimalist* catagory, but...whatever.

On a recent trip into Atlanta via Marta.

4. We are about to have not one, but TWO very important houseguests: My Dad, from Alaska, and Big Sis from New Zealand. Sooo excited!! I don't get to see either of them very often, so this is really big for me (and may explain my new excitement for Fall decorations and the urge to finish major home improvement projects I've been neglecting).

Marta Ride.

5. Um... Nothing else is new. Will update when something interesting happens, k?

Love you!

$531.03

Yikes. I just realized it's been quite awhile since I updated this. Here's what's been going on since you last heard from me:

1. Finished my first semester @ GSU. Hooray! A's in both classes (that was just lucky though).

2. I no longer work. That's right, we are officially a one-income family. :-) Mr. Right and I collectively decided that my schoolwork should be the main focus instead of a 9-to-5. I should note that this is because the long term goal is for me to be the sole earner and for Mr. Right to take an early retirement and raise the kids. I think he's just excited about sitting on his butt all day, and is willing to be broke for a little while first.

3. Chase started Kindergarten. He was pretty nervous about it to begin with because he is at a different school this year and it's considerably bigger than the one he attended last year. After a slightly "Rocky" start (HAHAHA, no pun intended), he seems to be enjoying the school and his teachers are even complimenting the quality of his work (though not necessarily the quality of his behavior-gotta work on that part.)

4. $531.03. The amount I spent yesterday on books for this semester. And I should mention I'm only taking four classes: Philosophy, Geology w/Labs, Cultural Anthropology, and Political Science.

5. Mr. Right and I have made some long-term goals. The most interesting one is our retirement goal: We want to purchase a motorcycle, ferry overseas (I think that's how we'd get there...?), and "bike" our way across Europe. Exciting! I'm trying to convince him to let me drive, but he refuses to ride on the back of a motorcycle with anyone driving, so we'll see how that pans our for us.

6. We decided to have a baby. Then changed our minds. :-)

7. We decided to have a baby again. Then decided to revisit the idea in a year.
To procreate or not to procreate, that is the question these days.

8. We decided to buy a deep freezer. Not for any particularly interesting reason-we just need a place to store more food.

So that's what's new. Everything else has essentially stayed the same. And on that note, I'm off to finish my Geology homework!

Hasta Luego!

I Love U Baby!

Mr. Wright likes to sing to me. He likes to sing a LOT. Most of the time it's off-the-wall crap, but occasionally there will be some good ones mixed in. Here is a video of one of the songs he sings:

It gets stuck in my head for days sometimes.

Enjoy! :-)

New Hair!

Here it is- the moment you've all been waiting for. Pictures of my new hair!

Before:

After:

I did it! I cut off 11 inches of hair. Chase thinks I look fancy, and I'm just loving the low maintenance. I think the funniest part of the haircut was walking out of the salon. Mr. Right and Chase were sitting in the car waiting, and they didn't recognize me when I came out. Mr. Right had to do a double take, and Chase almost fell out of his booster seat in shock.

I should note that I actually cut my hair almost 3 weeks ago, but I've been crazy busy with school (plus maybe just a wee bit lazy). Speaking of school, I'm off to finish two papers for Wednesday's class.

Adios!

Quick Updates

So, I've been super busy lately, but have also been feeling guilty for my lack of updating the blog. Without further ado, here is what's been up:
  • I started Georgia State University this week. There were a couple of hiccups (earlier today, specifically) with my Financial Aid, but we seem to have gotten everything under control now. I'm also pretty excited that I'm getting more familiar with downtown Atlanta, a place I had previously been a bit nervous about spending so much time in. I'm only taking 2 classes this term: History & Jazz Origins (give me a break- It's summer!). After this semester, I start my Anthropology classes as a Junior! Super excited.
  • Chase started the YMCA day camp. He doesn't really like it overall (he says they don't have good food), except for the daily swimming. Lucky for him, he won't be there much longer. Due to my new class schedule, he will have to go back to daycare (he doesn't like that idea either, but is excited because they have better food).
  • The whole "part-time" thing at work is going well so far. Not too much to report on there.
  • Mr. Right is pretty much the same as he always is. I'd go into more detail, but it's really not that interesting. No, really. It's not.
  • Umm...Let's see... Other than that, not too much new here. The kid is good, husband is good, I am good, dogs are good and the house is good.

Yep. It's all good.

Hair

So...

I've had the same haircut (pretty much) since high school, and I'm thinking about getting a REALLY MAJOR cut.

Here's what my new hair would look like:

I'm not sure what I think yet, but I plan to make a decision within the next couple days.

This is gonna be exciting!

Boys & their Issues

So I've been doing a lot of thinking lately.

As the mother of two handsome boys, I feel it is my responsibility to teach them to be gentlemen. And really, overall, they are doing quite well.

They clean up after themselves rather nicely, and generally without much prompting. They are respectful (most of the time), smart, and know that it is very important to be nice to girls (even when they aren't being nice to you).

There is unfortunately, one little thing in particular they haven't mastered: Peeing IN the toilet.

For some reason, this has just been too hard for them to handle. They are reminded constantly to be more careful, and TRY to hit where they're supposed to, but it just proves to be too much. They just can do it. They can certainly hit everywhere else, but just not in the toilet. Frankly, I'm tired of having to clean it up. So, I've come up with a solution.

Tomorrow, they are going to clean the bathroom. Then next weekend, they'll clean it again. Then, if need-be, they'll do it again for the next few weekends. They'll do it over and over again until they get the point and stop peeing everwhere. Sounds fun, huh?! I'm sure they'll agree too, once they find out.

The thought is that maybe they will be more careful if they're the ones that have to clean it up. We'll just have to wait and see... In the meantime, here's a picture for you:
